Ron has been a counselor for over 35 years; 29 years in pastoral counseling, including 7 years as a Sheriff's chaplain, and 11 years as a Marriage & Family therapist, beginning as a practicum student with the Don Ostendorf Center for Counseling in Redding, Ca.After completing nearly 4,500 hours of clinical training and supervision, Ron completed his testing to licensure in early 2014 and opened his own practice, "Ron Bridges Counseling" in late 2014. He is a graduate of Cal Poly University and received a Master's Degree in Christian Education from Talbot Theological Seminary (MACE) and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University in San Francisco. As an ordained Minister, he has also served in three different churches over a 24-year span. Ron is additionally licensed as a Marriage and Family therapist in Idaho and Montana.

Additionally, Ron has authored three books with NavPress and Thomas Nelson Publishers including: First Love; Rediscovering Your First Love; And, Disciplines of a Devoted Heart. He has also authored several magazine articles including articles for "Christianity Today." He has been a national conference speaker for Promise Keepers and several different church-sponsored organizations and has also appeared in over 120 radio and TV appearances and interviews over a 20 year span. Ron is also a licensed General Contractor, having managed and supervised the construction of over 70 homes and condos in Shasta County as well as the construction of two sub-divisions.
